The Story Behind The Work

I’m Zainab Amal (Registered MBACP) – a therapist, and a woman shaped by many worlds, from culture and emotion to faith and politics.
My journey has been shaped by both personal and collective histories, and by the quiet strength it takes to move through a world that hasn’t always made space for our lived realities.
I bring all of that into the room: my resilience, my roots, and a deep appreciation for the complexity of our lives.
I’m trained in a relational model of therapy, which means the work we do together is grounded in connection. It is also rooted in anti-oppressive and embodied approaches, which honour the creative, wise, and sometimes painful ways we’ve had to adapt in order to survive systems around us.
The hope is that we together make space for what’s been silenced and open the door(s) to something more whole.
